While the program itself covers the Japanese written language at a minimum, a huge part of the course focuses on listening to and speaking Japanese. The program uses a native Tokyo speaker and is helpful for learning standard pronunciation as well as proper pitch and inflection.

Japanese: The Spoken Language (JSL) is an introductory textbook series for learning Japanese. JSL was written by Eleanor Harz Jorden in collaboration with Mari Noda. Part 1 was published in 1987 by Yale Language Press, Part 2 in 1988, and Part 3 in 1990. The series differs from most Japanese language textbooks in many ways, most basically in that it focuses exclusively on the spoken language and leaves discussion of any aspect of the written language to other textbooks, such as the parallel series Japanese: The Written Language (JWL).

Several spoken languages are supported as voice input to live captions & subtitles in PowerPoint for Microsoft 365. The languages marked as Preview are offered in advance of full support, and generally will have somewhat lower accuracy, which will improve over time.

This paper describes an algorithm for spoken language acquisition through natural interface based on the perception of speech and other information conveyed in continuous signal spaces. In this algorithm the grounded language knowledge is represented by statistical model consisting of hidden Markov models and stochastic context-free grammar. The syntactic structure in each spoken utterance is inferred from the conceptual structure extracted from the perceptual information in the learning process. The algorithm is robust against ambiguity and sparseness of learning data because it uses statistical learning methods, such as Bayesian learning. Experimental results show that spoken language is learned robustly from a small amount of learning data.

Computational Linguistics is an interdisciplinary branch of linguistics which is concerned with the study and perception of spoken and written language from a computational perspective. It combines concepts from computer science, programming and coding with linguistics to determine how language functions in the context of computing and operating systems.

Another key mention among the various branches of Linguistics is, Stylistics deals with the study and interpretation of style and tones in both written and spoken language. It involves the analysis of different features of style, including but not limited to the use of symbolism, dialogues, regional accents, rhyme, sentence structure etc.

Surprisingly, given its enormous tourism industry, at eighth is Spain. Only 22% of Spaniards can hold an English conversation, placing it barely above Hungary in the EU. Apart from Castilian Spanish, there are three other Spanish languages: Basque, Catalan and Galician, with high levels of bilingualism in all these communities. As a world language, learning Spanish will enable you to speak to over 400 million people in 20 different countries, with more and more learning it as a second language too. 2ff7e9595c
